Today as I was coming home I saw this lovely Wisteria blooming on the side of the highway. I decided to pull over and photograph it. I didn’t care about the cars driving by or what people thought of me. I am learning that life is just too short for that. It is also too short not to stop and imbibe all the goodness that God pours into my cup.
I want to be the kid at the table saying “more please”– the sweetness running down my cheeks. More color, more light, more laughter and love. More puppy breath and happy songs. More sunsets with my children in silhouette. More horses and fresh eggs, and the sweet muscadines of summer.
Oh more, Father.
I think it delights his heart when we ask for more with joyful expectation. Like the child who claps happy when we blow bubbles, we say “again”! When the sun rises through the trees, we say “again”! Can’t you just see the mirth on his face when he pulls another surprise out of his pocket?
He is a good, good father.
Thank you for the wisteria joy today, Father.
Again?
