I bought these beauties at the grocery store the day after the puppies were born. I was tired and they felt like a happy thought. I was drawn to their brilliant color. Gerber daisies always seem like a good idea to me.
I set them on my table but could not leave them alone there. I kept bringing in different vases and cups that complimented their stunning orange color. The cobalt blue was my favorite. What is it about the mix of blue and orange together? They are the stuff of the perfect sunset. They are the warm sand against the summer ocean. They sugar maple leaves against a clear autumn sky.
Stunning.
God is so kind to create color. He didn’t have to. I think it speaks not only to his creativity but also to his generosity. He loves to give us good gifts — red apples, green grass, brilliant blue skies, chestnut horses, yellow chickens and on and on. And then there are the flavors, the sounds and aromas he has made! He is so amazing. His love is extravagant. He never just gets by, but puts the wow factor in everything he does. The best part? He is God and yet he offers his heart freely to us, his created ones. How blessed are we?
I am grateful tonight for these little gerber daisies, who remind of me of my beautiful Father God.
He is good.
