One of the best things about doing a 365 project is that I don’t tend to take beauty for granted. Everyday I am looking, seeking the gift that I will capture and share in this little blog. Today it is our beautiful farm sunset. When I stepped outside of the grocery store tonight I saw the pink hue of the clouds. I knew if I did not hurry, I might miss it. When I got to our road I parked the car and stepped under a canopy of oranges and blues. Glory. In that moment I thought about the richness of God’s generosity. He pours out his extravagance into the expanse above us day after day, and why? Because of his great love for us.
The beauty in a 365 is that I can look back at this image and remember all of that- where I was and what I felt God was saying. I can remember the neighbor that waved at me as I snapped photographs in the cold night air. Because the days can be repetitive, I often forget how valuable and beautiful each one is. And while I may not take an extraordinary photo on any given day, they will string up like beautiful pearls and I will say yes, wasn’t 2016 amazing? Wasn’t God so good? It has already been full of great pain, but also so much grace. His kindness has strung me together and held me tight. Counting his gifts reminds me of who he is and how he loves me in the midst of the pain.
Yes, he is good.
